CHAN 2018: Cranes contingent fly out to Morocco.

National football team (the Cranes) contingent of 32 people comprised of Twenty five players (25) named this morning after the final training session at Africa bible University Lubowa, and seven officials have flown out today to Morocco aboard Qatar air for the CHAN championship.

Head coach Sebastien Desabre with assistants Matia Lule and Fred Kajoba had today morning dropped Godfrey Lwesibawa and Daniel Isiagi from the squad.

Surprise inclusions in the squad are; Bright stars’ less known Sheif Batte, young star Ababukar Kasule and Police midfielder Rahmat Senfuka.

The team has flown out of the country at 15:00hrs and will be accommodated in Morocco capital-Rabat where it will play two friendly matches against Congo and Cameroon before traveling 3238.8 kilometers to Marrakesh where the final tournament will be held.

Desabre, despite arriving at Entebbe international airport 30 minutes after the players and other officials had arrived, managed to join them. Though with limited time (training sessions) to evaluate each player, the two friendly matches in Rabat will be good trials matches to select his squad.

Others expected to join the team in Marrakesh is FUFA president Engineer Moses Magogo and national team coordinator Patrick Ntege according to national team media member Nsereko Africana.

FUFA communication manager Ahmed Hussein and assistant coach Matia Lule traveled with the team.

The opening game of the Championship will be between hosts Morocco and Mauritania on 13th January, and the Cranes will kick off on 14th against West Africans Zambia the next day.
