Uganda Premier League lands new sponsorship deal with StarTimes.

The Uganda national football league first and second divisions have now secured a new sponsor in StarTimes Uganda ahead of the fourth coming 2018/2019 season. The competitions governing body Uganda Premier league (UPL) and the Federation of Uganda Football Association(FUFA) at Hotel Africana  as of today signed a 10 year sponsorship deal with the famous digital pay TV StarTimes that will cover both the Uganda Premier league (top flight division) and the FUFA big league.

The $7,240,000 / twenty eight(28) billion Uganda shillings deal entitles the title naming rights and the broadcasting holders rights for the top two football divisions in the country.

The development follows the expiry of the former broadcasters Azam’s contract which was not renewed on mutual grounds and futile negotiations between UPL and Sports Broadcast Limited a company that had earlier bid for the contract.
