I want to thank the president for the initiative and call upon all our fans to come in big numbers as we host the first leg of the final in Mukono. We started on a poor note but we have managed to get better and better and i promise you we shall do it as we have been doing it till we win the tittle so that we mantain it as usual Buganda ‘Ku Ntiiko’ meaning Buganda on top always.
West Nile captain Vitalis Tabu referred to the two legged final as a walkover for them and also stated God had granted them a ‘prize’ they have always wished to play in the final.
First of all i would love to thank the FUFA President, Magogo for the Drum tournament, and about the draw, am happy with what I have picked that we shall play away first and finish it at home, playing against Buganda a team we have always wished to meet is a walkover for us. West Nile isn’t about Vitalis alone but very many people. We have been praying for Buganda to reach the final from the onset of the tournament”. Buganda will get to know what it means playing in West Nile and it will be a very easy one for us.
Buganda will host West Nile first on 30th September at Bishops SSS Mukono play ground and West Nile will host the finals return leg on 6th October at Green light stadium in Arua according to draws picked by the captains.
The FUFA President Engineer Moses Magogo highlighted the key achievements attained in the Drum first edition and promised betterment in the next edition.
There will always be the first time and it will be prestigious for the province that will win the first edition of the Drum, We believe we have learnt some lessons and we hope to be better next season and as well attained some of our objectives in this first edition of the FUFA drum as we try to celebrate our ancestry, we know some things couldn’t have gone as expected but we shall try make them better as we expect more sponsors to come on board.
I would love to congratulate both teams Buganda and West Nile that have made to make it to the finals of the first ever edition and wish both teams the best. Magogo further stated.
