Sc Villa Head coach Moses Basena fielded 3 new faces(Shafic Bakaki, Pius Wangi and Ashraf Mandela) in a 3-2 defeat that presented plenty of opportunities with KCCA FC being just more clinical in front of goal.
Sc Villa dominanted the opening 20 minutes of the game and could have gone two goals up if it wasn’t to their mis firing forwards. The joggos were blessed with the opening chance of the game which went to winger Joseph Ssemuju who out paced Filbert Obenchan for a one one that was saved by keeper Charles Lukwago.
The hosts continued to push forward getting in the lead in the 13th minute from a Albert Mugisa well struck 25 yards shot that beat the Kcca Fc shot stopper. However, the Kasasiros responded quickly when Allan Okello connected from deep to orchestrate a counter attack through a spirited Timothy Awany who delivered a well crafted cross from the left to meet Julius Poloto who headed it past a helpless Brian Betwe in the 17 th minute.
The visitors slowly got into the game, created a couple of chances that were squandered by Mike Mutyaba and defender Obenchan. Gem Albert Mugisa weighted in a defense splitter into 18 yards for Semmujju who was on a run to find Bashir Mutanda at close range, his effort was saved.
Sc Villa gave the game away when midfielder Manko Kaweesa failed to clear a powerful cross from Julius Poloto with the latter simply directing the ball into his own net. The 12 time league champions seemed in for a half time lead before their stooper failed to handle an aerial ball granting forward Mutanda with an easy tap in with just seconds remaining.
A slightly goal-shy second period.
The visitors improved their offensive armory through 2 changes that saw Jackson Nunda and Patrick Kaddu replace Lawrence Bukenya and Mike Mutyaba respectively. The yellow boys switched to a flat back 4 line, with Kaddu and Allan Kyambadde now leading a 3 man attacking front a tactic that was quite able to counter the pace and spaces enjoyed by the Joggo flank men.
“.. We would have scored more goals, both sides were very poor defensively and the game could have ended 7-4..” Said Kcca fc gaffer Mike Mutebi.
Substitute Jackson Nunda required only 1 minute of action to slot home the winner from a short corner between Allan Okello and Julius Poloto.
The victory stretched Kcca FC’s unbeaten run to seven games whilst the Joggos continue to suffer a bottom table sink and have now faced 4 consecutive league defeats.
