Nassuna’s hatrick dents Isra despite hard faught comeback

The UCU Lady Cardinals have defeated Isra Soccer Academy 4-2 at home, to register their third successive second round win in the FUFA Women Elite League.

Lethal on form striker, Hasifa Nassuna grabbed a hatrick including a penalty in the second half while skipper Maureen Kinavudori also notched one assisted by Nassuna to bag the three points.

The Lady Cardinals move to twenty one points, brightening their chances of finishing in the top two slots to make it to the playoffs.

The Lady Cardinals have all their focus set on winning the league after an early exit in the FUFA Women’s Cup where they fell 3-1 to Kawempe Muslim Ladies.

However, they went into this win as current joint top leaders in  the Elizabeth group on 18 points same as Kampala Queens and Olila High School.

While tricky Isra Soccer academy side was still in contention for a playoff berth. Isra lay fourth on the log just two points behind the leading park.

With the result at UCU, Isra will now have a huge task ahead of them to challenge for the top two slots to the playoffs.

Else where, action resumes tomorrrow with the following fixtures as Kampala Queens and Olila will head into their matches knowing that victory will keep them on course for the top spot as well.
