Women’s National Basketball League.
Game day 3 Result:
JKL Lady Dolphins 70-42 A1 Challenge
There seems to be a script that JKL Lady dolphins are looking upto in their bid to establish hegemony in the Women’s National Basketball League.
Of course there’s no better side to admire other than the City Oilers on the other end of the coin.
JKL look to be a force that set out to crash every opponent, their roster as strong as guaranteeing them victory even in the absence of key figures like Rita Imanishimwe and Stella Oyera.
No side in the WNBL has that luxury. And so were the defending champions as they eased through one of their closest contenders A1 Challenge 70-42 at the YMCA courts,Wandegeya.
They swept through all quarters at 12-9,19-8,22-14 and 17-11 to register their 3rd straight victory.
As it has been the norm, guard Jamila Nansikombi rotated around her season’s average figures of 13.5,8.5,3.5 as she poured in 16 points connecting 7 of 15 on field,5-11 on twos,2-4 on threes with 3 rebounds and 4 assists.
A1’s Ruth Atuheire tied at game high 16 points with the former at 10 rebounds whilst Jane Asinde pinned 13 points and 4 rebounds.
JKL’s bench was productive as Hope Akello,Flavia Oketcho contributed nine points apiece as part of the aggregate 30 bench points.
New recruits Atulinda Maureen and Brenda Nakitende are yet to field reasonable time on court and certainly need to maximize the limited time accorded if they should by any chance prove more value to this star studded roster.
