Doves show class as Nemostars recover

The UCU Doves have a point to prove this season in the National Volleyball League, following their demolition of reigning champions Nemostars 3:0, on Friday night at the Lugogo indoor stadium.

This was the league’s opener between the two sides with the Doves’ having won the Club Championships.

The Doves won set one 25:19, set 25:22, wrapping up the third set.

On Saturday, the Mukono based side once again dominated SKY Volleyball Club beating them 3:1 before wrapping up the weekend on Sunday with a 3:1 win over KU at Nsambya grounds.

The Lady Doves on the other hand outclassed MUK STAFF 3:0 at home before clinching victory over MUST 3:0.

Elsewhere, Nemostars (Men) registered their first win of the 2019 season against Lira.

Nemostars won 25:10, 25:20, and 25:06, in set 1, 2 and 3 respectively at Nsambya on Sunday.

This however followed the League’s reigning champions’ poor performance after the Doves’ inflicted pain on them in the first game.

They however put that sluggish performance behind them to recover.
