COPA2019: Kafumbe brace sends Buddo to Quarter

Jinja – Joseph Kafumbe scored from either half for defending Champions Buddo Senior Secondary school to eliminate Uganda Matyrs Rubaga to book their quarter final ticket.

Left back Kafumbe’s intended cross in 35th minute beat goal keeper Sulaiman Ssali who was off the line for their first goal and scored from the penalty in the 64th minute after Innocent Ronald was brought down in the area.

Hamza Mulambuzi also got a chance to extend the lead for Buddo early in the second half but failed to find the target.

KCCA FC junior team and fans favorites Joseph Kizza l Bukenya didn’t perform to many’s expectations and was with drawn just a few minutes played off the first half.

Buddo SSS head coach Simon Mugerwa was Happy for the win but demands more from Kizza and some other players.

Though we did not have a good game, but at this stage,we focus more on three points. We are going to go back organise see how we get the 9 points remaining to win the title. I must say we are still let down by Kizza but we are going to try talk to him.

Despite the loss, Uganda Martyrs head coach Jimmy Mukubya was impressed by the boys performance.

We expected positive results, but the boys have done their best, we must accept Buddo team was better than us but we showed we could play as well, we never changed anything because we are playing a giant, but we played our way.

Bulo Parents has also knocked out Masaka Secondary school 5-4 in spot kicks in the other game played at Kakindu at 9am
