Airtel Rising Stars: North East Regionals came to a climax as Lifeline Academy and Olila Girls win championship.

Michael Keddi “Okoku” second half strike will be memorable to Lifeline Academy from Bukedea as it led them to victory against defending champions Olila High in the Airtel Rising Stars North East Regional finals.
In the girl’s finals, Olila High School girls became champions from the Spot kicks (3-0) after playing to 1-1 full time draw against 10-man Echoes.
OIila led the first half with a goal scored by Siprosa Amonding but the lead was cancelled by an equalizer from Echoe’s Oliver Eromu in the second half.
Amoding, Cecilia Apiding and Eunice Ariokot converted Olila penalties while Sharon Achan missed her spotkick.
Echoes missed all their three spot kicks, Lydia Ayango, Irene Martha Ajuro and Irene Adongo.
The 3-day tournament which was played from Soroti saw 16 boys’ teams and 8 games teams.
The ceremony was graced by Soroti District Vice chairperson, Simon Peter Edoru, Scovia Ninsiima represented Airtel Uganda and FUFA was represented by Executive Committee Member Chrispus Kalibala
