AIRTEL RISING STARS: Simon Peter’s brace earns Erima Soccer Academy Kitara Championship.

Over the weekend, Airtel Rising Stars took place in Kitara Region as the young generation of U-17, showcased their talent.
The boy’s final was full of action as Simon Peter netted a brace against Kabalega SS to earn Erima Soccer Academy the championship. The game ended 2-1.
In the girl’s category, Tooro Queens cruised past Panyandoli in the penalty shoot 4-3.
The full time ended 1-1 and Panyandoli led the game after a goal from Janet Apolot but Tooro Queens’ Sumanya Komuntale cancled that lead after scoring in the second half to take the game to the penalty shootouts.
In the shootouts, Tooro Queens’ Emelda Kasemire, Sumaya Komontale, Mary Kabachulezi, Ruth Nakato scored Tooro Queens kicks while Cissy Kabarwani missed her effort.
Mercy Akello, Joyce Asiyenzo, Janet Apolot all hit the target in spot kicks while Faridah Oyella and Anita Babirye failed to convert their kicks.
