Onyango Out, Mucureezi in Cranes Squad To Face Kenya

Uganda Cranes Captain Dennis Masinde Onyango is out of the squad and Mbarara City star man Paul Mucureezi has surprisingly bounced into the final 18 man Uganda Cranes travelling squad to face Kenya in an international friendly match at Moi international stadium.

Mamelodi Sundowns goalie is among the many Uganda Cranes professionals that were named in the provisional squad but couldnot make it for the friendly match.

Uganda Cranes Interim manager Abdallah Mubiru at last included Mucurezi who wasnt part of his earlier provisional squad.

It’s alleged that Mubiru could not hold the pressure of Ugandan football fans ‘social media coaches’ that were demanding for Mucurezi who was outstanding last season for the Ankole lions and has kicked off this season on a bright note.

The final squad of 18 players, 12 officials will travel on Friday morning 6am aboard Bombardier Uganda Airlines.

Five foreign and 13 local based players have been named.

Emmanuel Okwi, Khalid Aucho, Tadeo Lwanga, Kizito Luwagga and Timothy Awanyi are the foreign based players included

Captain Dennis Onyango, Winger Abdul Lumala, Robert Odongkara, Joseph Ochaya, Juuko Murushid, Allan Kyambadde, Farouk Miya, Henry Kaddu are some of players that were summoned but could not turn up for the friend encounter

The 13 home based players trained on Thursday at the Star Times Stadium, Lugogo in preparation for the game.
