CHAN 2020Q: Mike Mutyaba Returns To Cranes Fold After Years

Mike Suleiman Mutyaba has made a remarkable come back to the Uganda Cranes fold for the CHAN 2020 qualifiers after five years.

He last played for the Cranes in 2014 against Liberia and returns in 2019

Mutyaba had retired from active football in 2017 with a chronic knee injury and then started intermediary business

He, however, made a shocking return at Lugogo in the 2018/19 season where he has been an influential figure in the KCCA FC  squad.

The 28 year old who made his Cranes debut at the age of 17, started his football career at St Mary’s Kitende then joined Bunamwaya(current Vipers), moved to El Merreikh until 2013, then joined TP Mazembe where he spent litle time before returning to Vipers and Express FC

As well, Wakiso Giants star man Vianne Ssekajugo also returns after spending approximately a full year since he was last summoned

Ssekajugo was Onduparaka FC star man last season before making a big money summer transfer move to Money wags Wakiso Giants.

The 32 man provisional squad started training today, Wednesday at 2pm and will have other training sessions on Thursday 9am and Friday 13th Sept at 9am at Lugogo.

Galiwango Arafat, Kampamba Eddy, Sam Tiyo Kintu, Benson Tahomera, Gadaffi Wahab are among the new faces included in the provisionl squad.

Police FC duo of Kigozi Samson Andrew and Ssozi Yusuf, Joel Mutakubya, John Revita and Ashraf Mandela have been retained but as well knew in the Cranes set up.

Uganda will play Burundi over two legs on 21st September in Bujumbura and 18thOctober 2019 in Kamapla.
