Uganda Cranes defeated West Nile Select team 3-0 in the regional tour match played in Adjumani and two debutants scored

Ibrahim Orit, Ashraf Mandela and Fahad Bayo scored for Uganda in the regional tour.

Debutant Orit put Uganda in the lead with a well struck header assisted by Kigozi who chipped in a well calculated ball with just a quarter of the game played.

Another debutant Mandela doubled the lead before half time with a well struck shot that found the far corner of the net.

Vipers’ forward Fahad Bayo put the icing on the cake with the third when he connected well to Vianne Ssekajugo’s lay up.

Wakiso Giants’ Ssekajugo, Shafiq Kagimu, Bayo and Kigozi got Uganda’s other second half chances but could not utilise them.

The result, however, doesn’t reflect the good show the West Nile team put up exposing their defensive errors which Abdallah Mubiru believes can be improved.

The Cranes ‘Namutima’ game played at Paridi stadium in Adjumani went on record as the most hugely attended match since the ‘Namutima’ regional tour started.

Interim manager Abdallah Mubiru used this match to test some of the new players and believes it was a good warm up match

We are greatful to Allah for the results, we used this natch to give chance to the new boys in the set up as well as the ones like Said Kyeyune who have not been playing often and they have shown the can play so this gives us hope we still have any more good players in Uganda, But still we need to go back work and improve on a few things

Asked whether he could work with the new in coming head coach that is yet to be named next month according to FUFA president Moses Magogo, he had this to say

First of all i thank God for what he has enabled me to do, whoever takes up i believe he finds the team in good shape close to qualifying for CHAN because we have prepared it well and about the possibility of working with him hugely depends on the terms and conditions
