Ugandan football most decorated player Dan ‘Danucho’ Bilikwalira has opened up about Arua Hill Football Club successful FUFA big league campaign in an exclusive interview with Sports256.
He highlighted; proper management, motivation and team work as key to their StarTimes Uganda premier league promotion as FUFA Big League Champions.
The secret behind our smooth StarTimes Uganda premier league promotion journey was the club management, the environment created by club Chairman A’ita Joel and CEO Afeti Tonney. We have been highly motivated and well paid which has created a very conducive environment for all of us players to perform so team work was key as well and i thank fellow players.
The victorious Arua Hill FC squad was comprised of 16 players from the central reagion and the rest from the west nile region.
I would love as well to thank Ugandan football fans but more so i wish to appreciate these special individuals that own clubs ; Dr Lawrence Mulindwa, Me Joel and Mr Ochen of Gadaffi and i feel these are the people that would be at the front always when it comes to football development in the country because they sacrifice alot for the game.
He further appreciated the fans for their love throughout the season.
Arua Hill FC and West nile fans have been special and we are glad we have made it and won the region their first major title in history.
Bilikwalira, who has a year left on his contract at the Arua based club, didn’t make having offers on the table a secret speaking to Sports256 media.
“ I cannot rule out a move away from the club when i agree on a better offer from other clubs in and outside the country. I can say there is interest from a club in Greece and Namibia and some local clubs. But as of now, am a Kangoloo it all depends on the boss here if they will need my services in the SUPL or not beacuse football is my job.
The former St Mary’s Kitende captain hasnt lost hope returning to the Cranes fold;
I think this is where i need ‘ more luck’ because I have been performing well but right now it is something am not thinking so much about but am always ready if am ever given chance to reprent my country.
He as well, used social media to send a big message to fellow players, club management and football fans.
Goodafternoon Uganda, football fans friends and teammates ..eeehhh!
