Kampala Capital City Authority young players Sadat Anaku and Charles Lwanga have been named in Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic’s 32 man squad to face Rwanda Amavubi Stars in the up-coming FIFA World Cup 2022 group E double header.
Both forwards have been impressive for the Kasasiro boys scoring at ease in the 2020/2021 league season.
Anaku who was top scorer in the FUFA juniors league before earning promotion to the senior has only been disrupted by injuries but has proved to be one of the best in the league and a big prospect for the near future.
Lwanga, a St Mary’s Kitende S.3 student has been selected for his Impressive display since joining KCCA FC from SC Villa.
The two young forwards will face competition for the starting places with Fahad Bayo, Vipers’ Yunusu Sentamu, URA’s Cromwell and Stephen Mukwala.
The Squad that has both local and foreign based players will be trimmed before travel to Rwanda according to FIFA.co.ug.
Goalkeepers Isima Watenga and Charles Lukwago, Timothy Denis Awany, Fahad Bayo, Isaac Muleme, Moses Waiswa, Khalid Aucho, Tadeo Lwanga and Mustafa Kizza are the foreign based players in the squad.
Lukwago is already in the country while the rest of the foreign based players will start reporting to camp on Sunday, 3rd October 2021 in preparation for both matches.
There are 23 players who ply their trade in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in the squad currently camped at the Cranes Paradise Hotel in Kisaasi.
The team training resumes on Friday morning at Lugogo in Kampala according to FUFA website.
Uganda Cranes has two points from the first two games in group E, earned against Kenya (away) and Mali (home)
